LiveJournal
Logos • 2016 year
Yury Ostromentsky: In 2013, Rambler & Co purchased SUP company, the owner of LiveJournal, and carried out a massive redesign in an attempt to rejuvenate this pioneer social media service. I was asked to redesign the logo without drastically changing it. Most of my hours were spent on scaling — for the wordmark to be well read at both large and small sizes. The rest was done easily and quickly. The letters gathered into a dense line, spacing between words was gone, and I hung J’s tail low to compensate for the lack of spacing and make the title look unique. The logo became younger, while the network itself, sadly, didn’t come alive.
