Ilya Ruderman and Yury Ostromentsky founded CSTM Fonts in 2014.

Ilya graduated from the Moscow University of Printing Arts, Design and Technology of Printed Products department; completed the Type and Media course at the Royal Academy of Arts in The Hague. He was engaged with such media as Kommersant newspaper, Afisha magazine, Moskovskiye Novosti newspaper, and Bolshoy Gorod magazine, worked as art director with Afisha travel guide and at RIA Novosti new agency. Ilya has for many years curated a Type & Typography course at British Higher School of Art and Design in Moscow.

Yury is a graduate of the same faculty at the same university, Design and Technology of Printed Products at the Moscow University of Printing Arts. Worked as designer and art director at Russian publishing houses, newspapers, magazines, TV channels, design studios. Art director and display type designer at Bolshoy Gorod magazine (Afisha publishing house, later Dozhd media group) from 2004 to 2o12. He launched, together with Ilya Ruderman, Dmitry Yakovlev and Daria Yarzhambek, the DailyType website.
