Relikva

Logos2015 year

Yury Ostromentsky: Relikva is a social media about objects and stories linked to them, which was invented by Filipp Dzyadko and Danil Parushev. In their logo, we somehow needed to combine ‘yesterday’ and ‘today’. Around that time, I was designing and redesigning Carmela, one of my typefaces that grew out of the 1930s’ Spanish typography. And so I built the wordmark out of Carmela’s spare parts. Its simplicity and sharpness work well in the contemporaneity department, while its Deco proportions give off something historical and bitter-sweet.
