Yury Ostromentsky: In 2017, the team of Iskusstvo art magazine approached us to redesign their logo. We had to stay true to the old, Soviet wordmark, but make it contemporary and much more visible — because of its overall lightness it was getting lost in dense environments (e.g. on press walls). We sketched several variants, in some of those we stepped quite far from the original. To our great delight, the customer agreed on the brightest version — that rarely happens. The initial graphic idea and recognisable proportions are still present, yet in a radically modernised form.
